In the 1950s, the Dutch brand Rohé Noordwolde produced elegant bamboo and rattan chairs, often combined with a metal base.
These chairs are characterized by their light, organic design and open structure, fitting within the mid-century modern style. They were handmade in Noordwolde, then the center of the rattan industry.
Although designers like Dirk van Sliedregt are sometimes associated with this type of furniture, his work is primarily associated with other manufacturers.
The exact designers at Rohé are often unknown.
