In 1948, the Tubax company was founded under the leadership of Jan Vits from the Vits company (mechanical constructions).
Tubax NV would grow into one of the largest Belgian manufacturers of metal furniture.
In 1963, the company was at its peak when it employed over 200 people.
During this period, Tubax produced, among other things, the popular designs of Willy van der Meeren.
In 1977, the Vits company left NV Tubax and in 1984 the company went bankrupt.
154 jobs were lost.
